The intended audience of the ad is middle aged parents who are getting prepared for a small gathering without any children which can be seen by the way the two parents are trying to avoid telling their son " Freddie." In addition the ad is there to promote products which are hassle free to prepare to ensure that no time it wasted in the kitchen. We can assume that the products were related to the festive celebration "Christmas," from the has which the shop assistants are wearing and from the banners which hang in the foreground of the video a number of times throughout the advert, which was produced by a leading reputable company called "Tesco."
- Ethos --> In this ad, the parents are trying to convince the son not to go, whilst the shop attendant is giving facts about the food which is convincing future customers to buy the products as they are convenient for all people whilst they are preparing for Christmas which is celebrated in this country therefore appealing to the large majority of the population. This ad has high credibility as the company which is producing the video are very reputable all around the UK as the company is Tesco's
- Pathos --> This ad appeals to the emotion of how many parents feel in the UK, as many parents don't like having their children at home, as they are so used to them being out with friends or once they turn sixteen then they are usually doing work-experience or college. This ad shows an emotional response from the parents especially when the shop attendant states facts about products.
- Logos --> The ad states clear facts about what it takes to complete the preparation of the "small snacks" which empathises that they are an easy to get out of making the snacks yourself.
